I got recommended this a lot by friends and everyone says 'IT'S THE BEST'. But genuinely after 96 episodes, I felt like I wasted my time. I kept waiting for it to get better but it simply doesn't. At some point, Gon just forgets about looking for his dad (WHICH IS THE WHOLE PLOT) and starts going on random quests. Kurapika and the Phantom troupe, arguably the most interesting characters, disappear after the second arc which is a total waste. Only for the next 60 episodes to be about some ant I won't care about????? I also feel like the world building is terrible. There's no establishment for what the laws are about where they live and it feels like 'anything goes' which makes fights super boring because you know Gon will win. Like anything can happen and people are allowed to do anything want so it just feels super cheesy. Also the fanservice they throw in your face is so distracting and awful. Can anyone explain what's so good about this show at all since it's so loved... I really don't get it.
