"Gungrave" focuses on a grounded story of two friends climbing the ranks in the criminal world. This is contrary to what advertisement shows. I enjoyed it.

The first episode does __not__ represent what the majority of the show is like.

The main story is relatable, grounded in the mundane. The focus are men, their friendships, worries, ambitions and struggles. Maybe a little bit too romanticized. It's not too tragic not too explicit.

Women are only supporting characters in this show.

There is an element of science fiction, introduced more than halfway into the plot. It's bizzare and mostly irrelevant to the story. Do not expect an action show. There are plenty of handgun fights however.

If you like the mafia theme, and already watched all the more known shows with that theme, try watching "Gungrave" as well.
