Having been brought to the Republic of Venedik by Capitan Brega, Mahmut is granted an audience with the Doge Lucio. Mahmut asks the Doge`s reasons for betraying his alliance with Phoinike. However, Lucio answers that Venedik had not violated the terms of their alliance. After their meeting, Mahmut seeks out a kulak to learn more about Venedik, but Abiriga informs him that there is no kulak here.
